yeah, so i thought i was going to get this particular journal posted onto my website, but apparently i haven't done that yet.
guys, it has been one hell of a week and i am exhausted. i had a very big and very hard decision to make that i finally made. that of itself was hard enough, but then i had to inform all involved parties about the decision that i had made and they aren't going to be happy about it. i don't like hurting people...i really don't.
anyway, enough of that. i got back home at 10.30 on tuesday after 14 1/2 hours either on a bus or in a bus station. you know, i'll tell you guys something. the atlanta greyhound station at 3.15 in the morning is a very scary place to be. however, as i learned, if you just mind your own business, other people just mind theirs.
on one of the legs of my journey, i sat behind a woman who was greyhounding it back to atlanta after a vacation in panama city that had gone sour. apparently she and her husband had gone to panama city, but then she got a little restless because her husband had left her in panama city after having, well, caught her in the act, so to speak. through the course of this particular leg of the journey, she had to keep calling her husband on someone else's cell phone because she had none and she had to try to convince her husband that not only was she really and truly on a bus and that he needed to pick her up at the station at 3am, but that she was not sitting next to anyone on the bus. however, only the first bit of that statement was true. she was sitting next to the man who's phone she had borrowed and with whom she was flirting shamelessly. once she had finished talking with her husband, she began to giggle with this man and tell him that she couldn't possibly let him get off at his stop 'cause she'd miss him. unable to take any more of her (and unable to withstand the effects of the benadryl that i had taken) i went to sleep.
i only assume her husband met her at the station.

hullo all. i don't have much time to write as i'm about to go see batman begins...again...
so after two weeks of being out of the house, my mom has offered to send me money for bus fare so i can come home for a couple of weeks before i go up to decatur, il to visit a friend of mine. i'll then fly back to mobile in time for a week of packing and then moving into the dorms. it'll certainly keep me busy, that's for sure.
so lately, angela and i have been spending every minute of our free time reading harry potter and working on templates for blogger...unless we're watching movies and working on blogger templates. whichever the case, we've been getting a lot of blogger templates done. hey! check out my blogskins page--
dementia designsi'm pretty proud of it really. i've learned all my photoshopping skills since i came here two weeks ago and had angela teach me.
anyway, i'm out. i've got to get myself ready for going out to the movies with the guys.

welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the new world of whitney's journal. i got really tired of hand coding every single journal entry i wrote, so i've gone back to blogger. sort of. which is to say, i'm using blogger to publish my journal entries, but i'm using the template that angela made for me and i'm hosting the blog on my own website--as should be made obvious by the fact that it's on my website and not blogspot.com.
with that, let me give you a brief rundown of my life in the past month or so.
throughout the month of june and part of july my sole goal was to spend as much time with my family as possible because of my move to mobile in mid-july. we had a really good time during those weeks. trevor and i swam in the fountain downtown on our birthday, we all went tubing down the davidson river twice, we watched a bunch of movies, played a lot of video games and generally had a blast.
then in july (july 8, actually) we drove down to mobile to drop me off so that i could go to orientation the following wednesday. you know, you'd think we'd have better sense than to drop me off when there's a wake, a funeral and a hurricane all the same weekend, but if you thought that, you'd be wrong. so. my first weekend here was filled with all of those things and from then on out, i've been busy like crazy. some of it is self imposed, such as going to the library, watching movies, etc., but some of it has been necessary, such as working on scholarship applications, getting registered for classes, cleaning up, etc. it's been fun though, despite the busyness. (is that how you spell that word?)
in case i've been ignoring anyone since i moved--i apoligize. while i don't want to blame all of it on the move, i do want to express that this has been a very stressful, very busy time for me and i just need time to get myself straightened out.
and on a lighter note, the other day, angela and i were in panera bread getting some supper. i had never been to panera before, so i thought it would be nice to try it out. suddenly this guy comes up to our booth, pulls up a chair and introduces himself to us, saying that he saw us when we walked in and thought that we looked like people that he needed to meet. it was an interesting way to get hit on. anyway, during the course of conversation, he mentioned that he was in the drama department at south and we asked him what plays he'd been in and what roles he'd played. he told us that he had been in (among other things) one of the children's plays and that he had played a possum. i, ever the master of smoothness and wit, replied, "i ran over a possum once."
yeah, go me.
anyway, i'm out. got much to do and little time to do it in. God save the foundation!
